Media Equality and the First Amendment

This site was created to chronicle and openly share with all interested parties facts which gave rise to a legal controversy in San Diego County, California, under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. In short, a local member of the news media, Mr. James Charles "JC" Playford, Jr., was and has been denied media credentials by San Diego County law enforcement authorities.

Duly Authorized Member of the Media

On this day, the 25 day of June, 2014, Mr. Ed Peruta, president of American News and Information Services, Inc., personally administered a solemn oath to JC Playford, as follows: 

"I, James Charles Playford, Jr. of San Diego County, California, a duly recognized member of the media, by American News and Information Services, solemnly swear to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, together with the protections provided by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and California Penal Code, section 409.5."
